I ran into the same problem. In my case the idomod event broker module was not loaded because of my configuration mistake. I forgot to rename/activate the sample configuration file in the modules subdirectory - therefore no data were written into the icinga database (of course).
This error disappeared after the module was correctly loaded.

normally, such bug will arise when the database is not being populated. though the error is misleading and probably needs a more clear statement about - "no data found in the database, check your idoutils foobar"...

Hi.

I think it's obsolete since #2159, because we had changed how it work overall. But I tested with empty and wrong data, works.
