Tasks

  • Announcement: https://www.icinga.com/2016/12/13/icinga-2-v2-6-and-icinga-web-2-v2-4-released/ and follow-ups https://www.icinga.com/2017/08/02/icinga-2-v2-7-0-released/
  • CLI command: node {list,add,remove,blacklist,whitelist,update-config}
  • CLI command: repository (experimental already)
  • Cluster messages: UpdateRepository
  • Specific timers and file IO handling
  • Debug logging for unknown cluster messages (already exists)
  • Drop /var/lib/icinga2/api/repository/ from CMakeLists.txt and packages
  • Drop /var//lib/icinga2/repository/changes from CMakeLists.txt and packages
  • Configuration: Drop "repository.d" inclusion in icinga2.conf
  • Docs: "Bottom Up" and "Migration to Top Down" will be removed
  • Docs: CLI commands update
  • Docs: Troubleshooting explains duplicated check results - the note on bottom up should be removed. This chapter should stay, since local conf.d inclusion is still the default before 2.8.
  • Docs: Upgrade Note for 2.8
  • Code cleanup: repository references

Rescheduling this as 2.8 will be the last release in 2017 almost.

I'm splitting the requirements with the disabled conf.d inclusion in setup wizards. This is not part of the removal, it doesn't hurt for now.

Note: Existing installations stay intact. There isn't any config sync mechanism anymore, that's all about this PR.
