This issue has been migrated from Redmine: https://dev.icinga.com/issues/13053

Created by moritz on 2016-11-05 15:14:01 +00:00

Assignee: (none)
Status: Rejected (closed on 2016-11-07 07:15:56 +00:00)
Target Version: (none)
Last Update: 2016-11-07 07:15:56 +00:00 (in Redmine)

Icinga Version: 2.3.4
Backport?: Not yet backported
Include in Changelog: 1

The API documentation at http://docs.icinga.org/icinga2/latest/doc/module/icinga2/chapter/icinga2-api mentions the match() function several times, but never links to an explanation what it actually does, and what options it has, if any. I wasn't able to find any documentation either.

Things I'd like to know:

  • What does it do?
  • How does it behave with various object types as arguments (strings, hashes, lists, numbers, ...)
  • Is there a way to get it to match case sensitively?

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

Usage of the match() function (as well as all other globally available functions) is explained in chapter 20.1: http://docs.icinga.org/icinga2/latest/doc/module/icinga2/chapter/library-reference#global-functions
