within 1.8.2 there was a new session cache introduced in icinga web, which might cause irritations when upgrading icinga web / installing a new cronk or module. since this feature will be within 1.9 as well (discussion ongoing in #3919).

the resolution is rather simple

  • clear the xml cache
  • reset the users application state (top right corner - preferences, maybe add a screenshot)
  • logout and re-login (top right corner, maybe add a screenshot)

this should be added as

"i cannot see my newly installed cronk?" or "after upgrade, i cannot access the reporting cronk"

into the sections

  • upgrade icinga web, as remark for 1.9
  • icinga web trouble shooting

even if the caching may be removing in the future, it still does not hurt what to do for troubleshooting anyways.

Marking this high priority as it should be added to 1.9.0beta already. thanks.

below is a possible screenshot.
