Maybe some of the hidden files are needed but it doesn't seem to be the case in case of .keep and .gitignore.

And what are all these empty files for?

Hi.

I removed the phing test structure and renamed all PLACEHOLDER things in '.keep' that we equals to the rest of vendor libs.

This appears to have broken our authentication. We use kerberos configured in Apache and on a fresh 1.6.1 install we get the following error when logging in:

What application does remove the directories if there are no .keep files?

And there are still some empty files:

Hi.

The BPAddon was a mistake in this directory. This is normally not existing in the tree. It's removed in the last commits.

The lib/agavi/src/build/templates contains stubs to create new Agavi structures. I can not remove that (Or add something like 'I am your newly created sub ...'). Maybe it's better to patch that out of a package code tree.

The problem with empty directories is git. Git can not add empty ones without at least one file existing. But we need the directories because the installer will install them to the FS and this is needed to store data in that.

Can you go okay with that?
