Target Version: (none)
Last Update: 2016-12-07 21:25:16 +00:00 (in Redmine)

Icinga Version: 2.5.4
Backport?: Not yet backported
Include in Changelog: 1

I run a cluster with 2 master nodes and some satellites. The system was updated from 2.4.0 to 2.5.4.
After the update two checks return no result from the master (load and cluster).

Last status of check cluster is "Critical" with and load status is "critical" but since Icinga2 update in soft status 2/3.
I can run both checks successfully in the linux console (both ok) but Icinga2 won't check this to checks again.

I check the event screen. I see only the schedule event after execute "check now" or "Reschedule" in Icingaweb2 or Icinga2-Classicui. I can't see no execution of both commands in the event screen.

I also checked the DB but no entry will be written in the table from this two checks. All other checks (over 2500) run without problems.

I found the problem. It was a config change in the past. Now the Service was assigned to the host but the Service moved to a other zone. Result is that the command is available for the satellite but the Service is assigned to all hosts of the satellite on the wrong zone. The Master think everything is ok, Command is available and Service is assigned to hosts of the Satellite but the Satellite don't get the service configuration.
The master returned the last result and can't get a new result from satellite. If you create a copy of this check you see the check on the master in status "pending ".

I think it isn't possible to validate a service config between Zones and the "linux" Hosts in all zones.

I also read the the "global templates" zone is only for templates but often commands and services are needed in all zones. For this situation I need to create a a "global services" and "global commands" zone or I put it all in a "global" zone which is "global = true".

Okidoki. In terms of design questions - forums or mailing lists might target a wider audience than a bug tracker ;)
