I'd just like to premise this ticket by saying how awesome the package support is on all of the Icinga related tools.

That said, it would be great if there were some hosted Solaris packages for Icinga2. I would prefer 11, but I've seen a few other Icinga users make this request for older versions. Since I'm using Icinga2 agent-based monitoring I need to deploy the agent on our Solaris nodes for consistency in how we configure checks across all our various OS platforms.

This is going to take a while. I do not believe that my hardware is capable of compiling Icinga2, and because of a massive life-disruption it's going to be a while before I can lay in iron that's capable of the task.

I'll give it a go on Solaris 10, though, as that's what I have available.

@Ziaunys -- Are you looking for SPARC or Intel architecture packages? I have SPARC kit.

I'm looking for Intel. It's ok if this takes some time. I'm not in any hurry. I just thought it might be nice to have eventually. I've also been trying to make a Solaris 11 package here at Puppet Labs with the help of our RE team. It's just taking a while because they're all pretty busy and this is lower priority for them.

I didn't want to be blocked on them so we just went ahead and used SSH based checks for our Solaris nodes.
